THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTOGRAPH

Lake Braies was unlike anything I had seen before. The crystal-clear water was so still and transparent that it created a perfect reflection of the traditional wooden boats, making them appear to float effortlessly beneath the towering mountains.

What caught my attention was the combination of colour and light: the rich blues and greens of the lake, the warm timber of the boats, the dramatic mountain backdrop and the small glacier high on the peaks.
Standing quietly on the lakeshore, it was easy to understand why Lake Braies is regarded as one of the most picturesque locations in the Italian Dolomites — one of those rare moments where nature seems to have arranged every element into place.

For me, this photograph captures the tranquillity of Lake Braies and the timeless beauty of one of Europe's most spectacular alpine landscapes.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will the colours stay true over time?

Yes — the 12-colour pigment ink system is made for colour accuracy and carries a lifetime guarantee against fading, so the blues and greens of the lake stay as they are today.

How do I hang a large canvas?

Each canvas arrives ready to hang on its pinewood frame. The right wall hardware depends on the size of your canvas and the type of wall you're hanging it on — your local hardware store can recommend the correct hook or anchor for your wall.
