Gadigal Station is a black and white fine-art photograph of the ceiling lines and escalators of Sydney's Gadigal metro station — an image about geometry, perspective and light. It is available as a premium Australian-made canvas print in three sizes.

Every photograph is printed to order in Australia on premium canvas, wrapped around a 3 cm deep pinewood frame with thick pine stretcher bars. A 12-colour pigment ink system gives true, accurate colour, backed by a lifetime guarantee against fading. Delivery is free anywhere in Australia.

Profits from every canvas support the medical work of Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders).

Room images are for illustration purposes only and show approximate scale. Actual appearance will vary depending on the size you choose and the layout of your room. Please measure your available wall space before selecting your canvas size.

THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTOGRAPH

Sydney's Gadigal metro station offered a completely different photographic opportunity from the natural landscapes that make up most of my work.

I was drawn to the strong architectural lines running along the ceiling of the station. Looking upwards from the start of the escalator, those lines appeared to converge, naturally drawing the eye into the image and creating a strong sense of depth and movement. I chose black and white to emphasise the structure, shapes and repeating lines without the distraction of colour — the result is an image as much about geometry and perspective as it is about the station itself.

For me, this photograph demonstrates that interesting images can be found in unexpected places. Sometimes it is simply a matter of looking differently at an environment thousands of people pass through every day.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long will my canvas take to arrive?

Each canvas is printed to order in Australia and delivered free, normally within 7–10 days of payment via Australia Post, depending on where you are in Australia.

Does a black and white canvas suit a modern interior?

Beautifully — the strong lines and monochrome palette work particularly well in offices, studies and contemporary living spaces. Use the room views above to see it at scale.
