THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTOGRAPH

During our expedition to Antarctica we were surrounded by an ever-changing landscape of towering icebergs, glaciers and remarkable ice formations. Every day revealed something completely different — but one formation stood out above all the others.

This glacial arch captured my attention immediately. Sculpted over countless years by wind, waves and the slow movement of the ice, its graceful curves and dramatic structure created a striking contrast against the frozen landscape beyond. Antarctica is filled with extraordinary natural beauty, but this arch had a character all of its own — its shape framed by the surrounding ice and deep blue water.

For me, this photograph represents the wonder of Antarctica: a place where every turn reveals another unforgettable scene, and where nature continually reminds us how small we are against its scale and beauty.

Which canvas size should I choose?

Measure your wall space first, then use the room views above as a guide to scale. As a rule of thumb, 60 × 40 cm suits smaller walls and hallways, 86.3 × 60 cm sits comfortably above a bedhead or desk, and 120 × 80 cm makes a statement above a lounge or sideboard. The 86.3 × 60 cm size is also the size shown in the room views.
